DEMONS REVENGE is the 4th edition of Fatal & Fallen. Returning to Elizabeth Gabrielle Lee and Jade Meili Barget’s critical inquiry on retribution, the programme investigates vengeance as it evolves beyond the anthro-sphere towards the inhumane. Informed by concepts of the environmental gothic, rage as currency, and popular tropes of “nature-takes-revenge”, the programme delves into retribution turned demonic. Operating beyond human constraints, the programme frames revenge as a force that exceeds the self, asserting its autonomous agency.
DEMONS REVENGE consists of a lecture performance by Elizabeth Gabrielle Lee and Jade Meili Barget in collaboration with musician C3LINA, artist Nhi Đi Tu, fashion designer Azura Lovisa, and graphic designer Xuan Phan. The presentation salvages scraps of unworlding: dashcam footage, TikTok trends, atmospheric recordings and clips from revenge films. The lecture performance envisions retribution as a radical act of dissolution and an aspirational form of transgression.
DEMONS REVENGE is accompanied by a film program featuring numinous environmental takebacks, less-than-human blows, and god-like wreckages. It’s demon time!
